Our Minister

Craig Bowman

Rev Craig Bowman was inducted on November 30 2019 to the joint pastorate of St Andrew's Cheam and Wallington United Reformed Churches. The two churches have been working together since early in 2018 to develop this new relationship.

Craig began training to be an architect, but later spent time as a volunteer with Time for God. He was also heavily involved in the URC National Youth Assembly (FURY as it was known then). Following the call to ministry, he studied at Northern College, Manchester, and was ordained as a URC minister in September 1989. He ministered at Emmanuel URC, Haydon Wick (1989 - 1996) and Glenorchy URC in Exmouth (1996 - 2008). Since 2008 he has been been the Secretary for Ministries in the United Reformed Church, and thus he brings brings a great breadth of experience to his new role.

Craig, Louise and Thomas have been a part of the Wallington congregation for several years, as they lived in Carshalton while Craig was serving as Secretary for Ministries. The family have now moved to the joint manse in Cheam.
